AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER RUDD TO
ATTEND COPENHAGEN CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT
The following is the text of a Media Release issued by the Australian Prime Minister, Mr Kevin Rudd, on 13 November 2009 regarding his plan to attend The Copenhagen Climate Change Summit:
Today Prime Minister Lars Rasmussen of Denmark invited the Prime Minister and other Heads of Government to attend the Copenhagen UN Climate Change Conference, on 17-18 December 2009.
The Prime Minister announced today that he will attend the leaders’ segment of the Copenhagen conference.
The Copenhagen meeting represents a critical moment in international efforts to reach a robust agreement on global action to tackle the effects of climate change.
For current and future generations, it is important that all nations work towards a global solution to this global challenge.
