Invest Australia
Invest Australia is Australia's national inward investment agency, set up by the Federal Government in 1997 to promote inward investment.
Invest Australia (IA) is the Australian Government’s inward investment agency that helps international companies build up their business in Australia. It is the first national point-of-contact for investment inquiries, offering free, comprehensive and confidential assistance. Between July 2002 and July 2006, Invest Australia played a verified role in attracting 289 projects worth approximately A$42 billion, creating more than 21, 000 jobs and generating A$8.1 billion in export earnings.
Invest Australia currently has investment advisory specialists in 15 locations around the world. IA Greater China team now has offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou – the most offices in a single country outside of Australia.
There has been increasingly interest from Chinese companies to grow their business and to invest in Australia. A significant number of Chinese companies have chosen to invest in Australia, including major industrial players such as Baosteel Group, Huaneng Power International, Huawei Technologies and Cheung Kong Group.
