Tasmania (TAS)
General Election – House of Assembly
The Tasmanian General Election for the House of Assembly has now been called and will take place on Saturday 18 March 2006.
Please note that voting services for this election are not available at the Australian Consulate-General in Guangzhou.
Postal Vote Applications
The Tasmanian Electoral Commission accepts applications for a postal vote by email for Tasmanian electors who are overseas.
The application can be completed online at http://www.electoral.tas.gov.au/overseas/index.htm.
Alternatively, an email can be sent to ballot.box@electoral.tas.gov.au stating your full name, date of birth, the Tasmanian address for which you are enrolled, and the overseas postal address to which you want your postal vote sent.
Applications must be received by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission well in advance of the close-off time of 6.00pm (Tasmanian summer daylight saving time) on Tuesday 14 March 2006.
